Based off of my expression and/or memory, the fluidity of paint can transform an object, the figure, and space into a very unique experience. Paint can offer clues to what I am expressing to the viewer. You can see this evidence through each brush stroke, as each one contains a rare mark.
Becoming a storyteller in my work, I set up still lifes that remind me of a memory and experience during my childhood. Using the state of paint, these mundane objects flux and change and become something more. They become an expression of the experience from my childhood that I am conveying to the viewer. I trust in the paint and allow myself to make instant changes and incorporate it into a moment within my painting processes.
