Painting marks my initial interest in art. It was one of the first ways I began exploring art-making. Since then I have continued my exploration and now work in a wide variety of mediums. While these days I rarely find myself making a "painting" by traditional standards often the practice of "painting" or role of "painter" is present or challenged in my work. I am thrilled for my piece to be included in the WetPaint Exhibition where it may be in dialogue with its contemporaries; and, am excited to see how this national survey of MFA painters approaches painting in fresh and unexpected ways.
